Crosstown Harmony Chorus is thrilled to announce that our 2025 Woman of Note is Amanda Demeny!
This outstanding member joined Crosstown Harmony and Sweet Adelines as a baritone in 2019—only 5 years ago (!)--yet has contributed so much since joining. After performing in the front row for her very first competition, Amanda has taken over the role of front-line choreographer! In this role, not only does she work out routines for competition songs and other uptunes, but she has also created videos of choreo for our website, works with our coaches to improve our competition performance, and has helped to review and update the entire holiday music library, including the learning tracks, videos and sheet music.
Amanda has become a wonderful mentor and teacher of our visual performance. She is clear in her communications, is kind and encouraging when teaching, and has a sense of humor!
Not only that, but when our director, Kari Midtbo Schwartz, believed our chorus would be stronger with more lead singers, Amanda switched to lead for the good of our sound. And not only has she excelled in this part, she has also become the lead section leader! Her excellent communication skills have helped greatly in this role as well, by helping the leads with notes and phrasing when they need it, and even making learning tracks herself!
Along with all of this, our new WON helps with the Weekly Reminders when needed and provides back-up technical support for the website.
We at Crosstown are proud to present Amanda Demeny as the Crosstown Harmony Chorus Woman of Note for 2025!
